Research interests: computer design, the philosophy of digital technology, artificial intelligence in education. Prof. Levin has authored over 200 scientific publications bridging engineering and the humanities. He has held visiting professorships at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy) and Aix-Marseille Université (France).

Background

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming education in 2025, making it more personalized, accessible, and adaptive, but also posing challenges regarding ethics, equality, and the human factor. The special session “Educational Paradigms of Artificial Intelligence” is relevant because AI is already being integrated into learning processes, enabling the creation of individual learning trajectories and improving inclusivity, especially under conditions of digital transformation. The session’s goal is to discuss transdisciplinary approaches to implementing AI in education, including STEM/STEAM models, to develop practical recommendations for educational institutions. It aims tobridge the gap between technological innovations and pedagogical practices, ensuring the preparation of teachers and students for the era of automation. The session emphasizes the need to develop AI literacy as a key competency to avoid risks such as inequality in access to technologies and loss of critical thinking. Overall, the session will promote international cooperation, exchange of experiences from Ukraine, Israel, Poland, USA, and other countries and the formation of ethical frameworks for using AI in education.

Key Topics for Discussion

The WS will focus on the following discussion directions:

● Development of artificial intelligence in education, including personalization of learning and adaptive systems.

● Digital transformation of education with an emphasis on integrating AI into school curricula.

● Transdisciplinary approach to STEM/STEAM education using AI.

● Ontological tools with the application of artificial intelligence in education.

● Ethical issues of AI in education, including preserving human individuality and risks of automation.

● Intercultural aspects and EdTech experiences from different countries.

WS Program Committee

● Oleksandr Stryzhak (Chair) — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Director for ScientiAcademy of Sciences of Ukraine” (NC “JASU”).

● Ilya Levin (Co-Chair) — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Holon Institute of Technology, Israel.

● Yevhenii Shapovalov — Candidate of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Information-Didactic Modeling, National Center “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

● Mariia Dovha — Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Research Fellow at the National Center “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

● Fabian Andruszkiewicz — Doctor Habilitated, Professor, Head of the Department of Preschool and Primary Pedagogy at the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, Opole University, Poland.

● Svitlana Babiichuk — Dr. Ped.
