Doctor of Science Candidate at the Department of Computer Systems, Networks and Cyber Security(503)”, KhAI For more than 10 years Dr. Oleksandr Ivasiuk has been researching providing green and safe power generation and reducing CO2 pollution. He was a leader of the validation testing team that conducted comprehensive testing of the digital PLC based on FPGA technology to meet the requirements of IEC 61508 by SIL-3 level in one channel. Such a type of PLC is the core of I&C for advanced small modular reactors and the modernization of the existing power units. Nowadays Dr. Oleksandr Ivasiuk is researching the interconnections between safety and security features of the digital PLC. This research’s results will reduce the time and effort for estimating the cybersecurity level of PLC based on its safety level. |
Abstract:
Testing in the certification process takes a significant place. The different test objects require different approaches and tools. The higher numbers of technical requirements demand careful testing management to check each of the design requirements and the test shall fully cover the requirement.
Testing of the safety programmable devices imposes additional requirements to verify the specific features such as self-diagnostic coverage or reaction time of the system.
The decision-making of an independent certification body regarding the system as well based on studying the testing documentation. The results of more 10 years experience in research, development, V&V and certification of the FPGA platform-based safety critical I&C systems are presented and discussed.
